Deputy Minister Receives 470 Pairs Of School Shoes For Underprivileged Learners
Deputy Minister in the Presidency Kenny Morolong on Tuesday received 470 pairs of school shoes from Capital Centric, on behalf of the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS). These shoes will be donated to students in need.
Capital Centric is a private company that specializes in private equity investments. The company follows the Kaizen philosophy, which focuses on continuous improvement, and works on finding opportunities to create long-term value for its stakeholders, SA News reported.
The deputy minister expressed his gratitude when receiving the shoes, saying he was humbled by the gesture. He also shared his excitement about the private sector's commitment, adding that the donation would greatly help children who would normally not be able to attend school with shoes.
He emphasized that by working together, the private sector, civil society, and government can make a real difference in improving people's living conditions.
He expressed his gratitude for the collaboration, thanking those involved for working with GCIS to support programs that benefit communities, especially children who would not normally have access to new shoes.
CEO of Capital Centric Nathaniel Bricknell explained that the company invests in small and medium-sized businesses that are profitable, scalable, and sustainable. He also highlighted the company's pride in contributing to social impact within the sectors it serves.
Bricknell said they were excited to donate 470 pairs of school shoes to GCIS for distribution to schools and students in need. He further explained that each pair of shoes is special, as they are made in South Africa from medical waste that would have otherwise been discarded or destroyed.
The shoes, made from plastic materials that were once used for medical purposes, represent transformation and sustainability. They show how something life-saving can also create new opportunities.
Bricknell highlighted the importance of collaboration to make a bigger impact and mentioned that companies like FNB are also being invited to join similar initiatives that create positive change.
He thanked GCIS for fostering a cooperative environment that allows the private sector to actively contribute to uplifting communities. Bricknell added that together, they are not just investing in businesses, but in the future of children, communities, and the country.
The company's Non-Executive Director Pearl Munthali expressed appreciation for the partnership with the government. She hoped to continue working together to improve the lives of underprivileged people in the country.
