Government Is Committed To Fostering Inclusive Education – Deputy Minister Seiso Mohai

Deputy Minister in the Presidency Seiso Mohai confirmed the government's commitment to creating an inclusive education system. He emphasized the importance of collaboration to ensure every child is prepared for a better future.

During Back to School Frontline Monitoring Visit to the Lejweleputswa District Municipality in the Free State, he checked how ready schools were for the new year, encouraged students, and highlighted the vital role of education in shaping South Africa's future, SA News reported.

Mohai pointed out that the visit allowed for an assessment of governance and solutions to education challenges. The deputy minister mentioned that the school reports show the dedication of teachers, even in challenging conditions.

He highlighted that the focus is not only on educational results but also on creating a better future for every child in the country. Students at all schools performed impressively, with many surpassing expectations. They were eager and excited for the year ahead, showing they were ready for the challenges of 2025.

Education District Director of Lejweleputswa District Municipality Phaello Zonke noted that even with challenges like limited ICT resources and infrastructure, teachers remain committed to providing learners with the tools and support they need to succeed.

At all five schools, the Deputy Minister praised the Free State's consistent academic success. Learners were inspired by messages from top student Lehlohonolo Mokothu, who encouraged them, saying that anything is possible.

The excitement among students was clear, with loud cheers and chants of "Rea u rata Ntate Mohai" (We love you, Father Mohai).

This outpouring of affection showed the strong connection students have with the deputy minister, who was warmly welcomed as a local hero. His presence highlighted the belief that great achievements are possible, no matter where you come from.

The Back-to-School Monitoring visit in Lejweleputswa District was a great success, creating meaningful engagement between teachers, students, and local leaders. Last week, Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube emphasized that the government must now focus on improving the quality of education, noting that South Africa has made progress in expanding access to education.
